About Us
Sappho Women – Empowerment & Support for Farsi- and Dari-Speaking Women in Germany
Sappho Women supports Farsi- and Dari-speaking women with a migration background on their path toward safety, autonomy, and social participation in their new environment.
Many women affected by displacement face psychological stress, domestic violence, social isolation, or legal uncertainty – while existing support systems are often inaccessible due to language barriers, limited outreach, or lack of cultural sensitivity.
Sappho Women works to close this gap by providing:
A multilingual emergency app with vital information in Farsi and German
Access to professional counseling in Farsi/Dari and local languages
Legal guidance through culturally aware professionals
Community engagement opportunities to strengthen voice, visibility, and resilience
Our mission is to help women reclaim agency, build confidence, and connect with support structures – wherever they are.

What is
Our Mission

Our mission focuses on supporting women with a migration background who face psychological stress, social insecurity, or legal challenges.
In critical situations, such as domestic violence, some women manage to call the police (110). But when only German-speaking officers respond, they often face the same barrier again: insufficient knowledge of the language – and a lack of access to further help.
